THE SPACE: With a skylight facing this north, this newly built Den Outdoors modern cabin is made for the Northern Lights viewer. Every detail is thoughtfully designed with a nod to Scandinavian design. Enjoy luxury in the Northwoods with a beautifully tiled rain shower, a modern propane fireplace, and a spiral staircase. Aurora Modern Cabin sits on 22 acres along with Looner Cabin and a shared electric sauna and cold shower (in summer).

The kitchen has a full size oven, 4-burner electric stovetop, dishwasher, pots & pans, a toaster, a blender, a rice cooker, a Fellow electric tea kettle, French press, and locally roasted Gene Hicks coffee. Brew yourself a fresh cup of tea or locally roasted coffee and watch the sunset through the wall of windows.

1 full bed in the downstairs bedroom & 1 queen bed upstairs in the loft. Fall asleep gazing at the stars or Aurora Borealis through the skylight in the loft.

The cabin is designed to be a space to unplug if that's what you want, however we do have high speed Starlink internet, a desk in the loft, and an projector in the bedroom that you can use with your computer (via Bluetooth or provided HDMI) if you like to unwind with a movie at night. Bring your computer to plug into the HDMI if you choose to use this amenity.

Relax in our electric sauna as often as you'd like  (shared with 2 Looner Cabin guests in summer). We have an outdoor cold shower seasonally in summer.

THE LOCATION: The Aurora Modern Cabin sits on 22 acres. The cabin is just a couple miles away from Bear Head Lake State Park and Vermillion State Park. 15 minute drive to the town of Ely for convenient shopping and dining. We have 4 bikes available if you want to hop onto the Mesabi Trail and ride to town.

PETS: We are dog friendly! The pet fee is $50. Max of 1 dog at Aurora cabin.

We ask that pets don’t go on the furniture or beds to respect those with allergies and help reduce wear and tear.

Please bring their dog bed and kennel and a towel to wipe their feet before they come back into the cabin.

Your pet MUST be crated if left alone in the cabin.

Please only bring your dog if they are well behaved. We want to keep the cabin pet friendly for future guests.

There have been wolves & coyotes in the area lately. Keep your dogs on a leash for their safety.
